Hi , I am a high school senior pursuing my IBDP with Math, Physics and Economics as HL and English, Spanish and Comp Science as SL . I traditionally come from farming family of North India with my grandparents spending a large part of their early years in their village and my parents using a good quality education to become self made professionals so life has come full circle with my Social enterprise venture called TRUMERIK. Trumerik is an organic turmeric brand produced using natural farming and processing methods by set of farmers located  in a village on the outskirts Mumbai. Its marketed via @mytrumerik Instagram page and available on Amazon . Trumerik is a direct to consumer business helping farmers increase their income by growing a cash crop like organic turmeric on a small section of their land and become entrepreneurs themselves. Agriculture remains to be the largest human capital source in India but farmers are often just dolled out subsidies which never reach them. As Business and Economics became my areas of interest,  the idea of using my knowledge to build a social enterprise that makes farmers in India  small business owners came up . To further enhance my knowledge in this field, I did a research internship with ITC MAARS (which works with over 2 MM farmers across 20 states in India) and did a report on various lending opportunities available to farmers in India and also worked with Axis securities using last 10 year data and regression models to predict inflation trends in India in next 3 years as that impacts both consumers and business alike. I want to build my knowledge further in this area and hence attended the 2 week Wharton Global Youth program with a research paper on JP Morgan , Introduction to financial markets from Yale and Statistics course from Stanford University . All these helped me as I built mytrumerik and looking at ways to scale it. 

I am passionate about working towards resolving problems around our community of 13 villages near our farm  especially encouraging young students  to pursue higher education. I have worked for last 3 years with Sajhi Mitti Foundation teaching 10 kids computer literacy. For this , I also did a course by UNICEF on Adult programming skills and multiple courses on HTML / JAVA. 

 I also started learning performing arts to overcome my shyness but soon the different forms of mime, acting, comedy, prose reading etc. led me to complete Grade 4 education in the same and made me a confident speaker and person. This also led me to lead MUN Club in my school as co chair of Junior MUN mentoring young budding members of the Club. 

 

Chess and financial markets help me relax. I really find fascinating the process of learning , un learning and then learning again the process of how financial markets work and how unpredictable it can be despite the most sophisticated models and a good game of chess helps me to get the adrenaline rush I sometimes need so much after full day of school.
